A new and effective shopping experience for the cult-favorite swimwear brand

About the Brand

Finding swimwear that'll perform as well as you do, keep you feeling confident, and prevent weird tan lines is hard enough. Enter: Left on Friday. Founded by two Lululemon veterans, the brand's patented style perfectly blends function and fashion. Known for emphasizing flattering silhouettes, Left on Friday's entire collection is built around mix-and-match, allowing loyal customers to collect their personal favorite styles in a rainbow of colors without needing to try on a new fit each time.

Despite new additions of beautiful colors to each swim style, Left on Friday's old website prevented them from showing all the variations that were actually in stock. They came to me to create a new, Shopify Plus shopping experience that would allow them to feature limitless colors and styles on a single product page.

An Improved Shopping Experience

Left on Friday’s old website required their team to remove multiple color options from their store’s inventory – not only causing eCommerce management chaos, but limiting shoppers from being able to see all of the options available to them. To solve for this sustainably, I built a highly customized PDP, leveraging ajax technology and Shopify's custom fields to pull in fully separate products under one umbrella.

All variant limitations were removed, load time improved drastically, and shoppers could see in-stock availability based on both color, style and size.

Flexible Merchandising Systems

I streamlined Left on Friday’s inventory management system to serve the new website structure. Historically messy products with endless child variants were split into new, separate products that allowed for cleaner third party integrations and customer data.

Effective Landing Pages

I also led the creation of a few new pages and features to support growth initiatives, including a sign-up page for a new SMS marketing program.
